Class Video
The videos we saw in class “The power of 10”, by Bomi Lee is a strange video. It shows how small people are in comparison to greater picture, but it also shows how great people are in comparison to organs, tissues, organelles, cells, and bacteria. The video starts out with two people having a picnic and it begins to expand beyond the simple life of these two humans, two the busy sights of a city, to the outer reaches of the state, the continent itself, the planet, the stars, and it goes on into the seeing the world through the infinite galaxies that exist. Just when you think the video is going to end, everything that is small slowly comes back into view. We are back to the part where our two human friends are relaxing at the park while they have their picnic. The camera begins to zoom into our lazy friend whom is napping on this beautiful picnic date. It begins with his hand, it slowly goes into his pores you see how strange pores look like from up close, it zooms in further, through his epidermis and slowly goes through his reticular dermis , into his cell structure, atomic structure, and then we arrive at the nucleus of the cell and zoom into that too, and we are surrounded by the electrons, etc.

Motivation Essay Group 5
In a journal by William K. Estes, he stated that “a secondary reinforcement can be very effective when the original thrive has been eliminated, providing a source of motivation strong enough to instigate activity” (W. K. Estes 310). Meaning that when motivation is lost a second reinforcement can be of great help to regain that motivation. A secondary reinforcement is not so difficult to find, you just need to find that one thing that keeps you motivated to follow your dreams. A great reinforcement can be family, you can always relay on family when you need that extra push to get motivated. Family always inspires people to do and to strive for the best and never settle for less, because you know others are counting on you.
Many families in this country are immigrants. A reason why they leave their loved ones behind is usually to seek a brighter future, the one that might not achievable in their country. My mother and I came to this country when I was only 7 and it was the hardest thing we ever had to. My mom’s motivation was me, and our family members left behind in Cuba. She knew of all the possibilities and dreams this country had to offer us. She knew here I was going to obtain the bright future we only saw possible in dreams. She also knew that from here she could help our family; she had the chance of finding a better job, giving us a better economical status to send money to Cuba.
What motivates me today is my mother, she is my secondary reinforcement. When I feel like giving up on my dreams, or just don’t see the point of why trying, I think of her. I want to show her that all her efforts have not been in vain, that she did not leave her family for nothing. My bright future is only a few steps away, and she is the one who motivates me every day to get closer and closer to it.
Motivation is a very important part of life, you can be motivated many different ways orat least there has to be something that motivates you everyday to continue your journey throughlife. There is this one person that has kept me motivated ever since I had a sense ofunderstanding, that person that motivates me and supports me in every way possible is mymother. She is my hero she came to this country for a better future and when she had me acouple of years later she went through a divorce. She raised me alone with the help of absolutelyno one. She never worked in order to take care of me and not leave me in hands of strangers. Wewent through so many ups and downs but we surpassed everything put in our way. She raised mewith good morals and values. She would ask me to please finish school and get the education shenever had, so when tomorrow came around I would have a career and not depend onanyone. Because of her I have become the person I am today, she is my everything I don’t knowwhat I would do without my mother. She is unquestionably the reason I wake up in the morningsexcited to go to school. I just say to myself one less day to go to get to where I want to be. She is truly my inspiration.
“Motivation starts with the desire to be free, to be from dependency on others, freedom to live the lifestyle we dream of, freedom to explore our ideas. Total freedom is not possible or desirable, but the struggle to achieve that ideal is the basis for motivation.” Motivation is a desire from someone or something in your life that drives you to be strong and look up on. In this case my motivation drive is my mother. She is the one that keeps me going every single day because I look up to her in every way possible.
One of the biggest motivations in life is to do exercises for one’s own benefit. Having a long and healthy life is the main reason for which one should exercise, but it is not the only one. Exercising gives you more energy to spend at school, with family and friends, and on any daily task that requires energy. As mentioned in the article Total Fitness, the first thing one should do is make a workout schedule, and then one can start by warming up doing 5-10 minutes of low-intensity cardio. Then, one can begin to do the exercises one needs. Besides, exercises improve one’s mood in such a way that it takes away one’s stress making he/she feel happier and in this way they can also obtain a better sleep. Another important reason for which you should exercise exercise is to stay in good shape in order to improve your self-concept and appearance.
When things are not going quite well as we expect them to be, people tend to reach or find the motivation they need to keep them going. Everyone has a different way to look for that motivation; some of us find it through religion, others through family members, as they view them as role models. I have my own.
Sometimes we don’t understand why life takes some path we never expected it to take, and we sit down and try to think pretty much about anything that will get you back up. Motivation can be described in two words which are hope and inspiration; I find motivation by playing a particular sport, which is soccer. Sports are not only my own way to get back on track but for many people too. It helps me take my mind off anything and get focused and determined to do better in life.
Motivation via emotions is a very powerful thing, and can drive you to do either negative or positive things. If your result is positive or negative is all up to the person, and of course the situation. An example of positive motivation, the use of love as something to motivate yourself, like I might have said in previous essays, love motivates you to do your best at everything, for the sake of either showing off, or because this person you’re in love with helps you become better. An example of negative motivation is anger. Anger can motivate you to take revenge upon someone who has done you wrong, and you won’t stop till your retribution, has been fulfilled, which leads to even more negative side effects.
Emotional motivation is everywhere around us, the positive and the negative. One of the most recent examples is the earthquake in Haiti. The earthquake in Haiti made people realize, that there are other countries that are less fortunate than us, their sorrow, and the media motivated people to contribute to a cause, that they would regularly neglect. The war on terrorism that began after the 9/11 attack, people were fueled by their emotional rage to take up arms, and go fight in the war. After the loss of family members, some of the people took up signs and said enough is enough the war on terror should end, and their words are still heard today.
